We stayed close to Ambazac for a week and were recommended to go to the hotel. We rang to book a table. When we arrived the restaurant was very busy with only two people waiting on. We waited a long time for menus and then a long time for a drink. We quickly realised that it was going to be a long service so settled back to enjoy the atmosphere and ambiance of the place. We eventually received our starters an hour and a half after arrival. We were not disappointed in the quality of the food which really was a fine dining experience. We all chose different things to eat and I can highly recommend the langoustines. Unfortunately we then had to wait a further hour for our main course. We were fortunate that we had older teenagers with us, who understood but we felt sorry for the younger families. Eventually we received our mains. Again the food was first class. A real treat. I would recommend the dorado fish - it was exquisite. We left shortly after, declining deserts as it really was too late to eat anymore. This is a great restaurant and as a result I have given it a 5* for food. But they do needto employ more staff and improve service.
